          Lift table service and safety

          Declaration of Conformity or Incorporation

Our Lift Tables and Work Positioners are designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the Lift Table Standard, EN 1570-1, and Work Positioner Standard, ISO 3691-5:2014, and thus the demands of the Machinery, Low voltage and EMC-Directives are complied with. All products carry the CE-mark and include a CE Declaration of Conformity or, in certain cases, a Declaration of incorporation is included. Below follows an overview of the two standards.

          EN 1570-1

The EN 1570-1 lift table Standard

The EN 1570-1 Lift Table Standard specifies the safety requirements for lift tables used for lifting and/or lowering of materials and/or persons who travel with the table for handling of transported material. It is valid as long as the lift table does not pass a fixed landing or where the lift table does not serve more than 2 fixed landings. Included in the standard are all of the following points:

          • Rules for loading conditions, strength and stability calculations.

          • Safety arrangement requirements if persons, wheel borne goods etc. travel on the lift table.

          • Minimum safety clearences in the construction, with or without safety frame.

          • Protection devices for various applications to prevent persons, goods or fixed installations in the lift table work area from being damaged.

          • Maximum permitted lifting, lowering and peripheral speeds.

          • Overload protection.

          • Devices to prevent the lift table lowering at speed in the event of a hose break and to prevent risks caused by unintentional lowering due to oil leaks, stop lowering at hose break and prevent risks caused by unintentional lowering due to leakage. EdmoLift's new standard hydraulic and electrical systems meet all these requirements, which is uncommon for the systems of other lift table manufacturers.

          • Demands on the type of control system, such as the inclusion of an Emergency Stop device and the facility to prevent unauthorized use.

          • Testing of all products prior to delivery.

          • Comprehensive operation and maintenance instructions and markings, to give clear advice about the operation, warnings regarding possible misuse and risks, of the lift table and any that could occur in the vicinity of the lift table. Also to provide instructions for installation, inspections and maintenance, providing the user with extended, economical use for EdmoLift lift tables.

The ISO 3691-5:2014 Stacker Truck Standard

The ISO 3691-5:2014 Stacker Truck Standard (for the Work Positioner-range) specifies the safety requirements for stackers (Work Positioners) equipped with forks, platform or other attachment, with pedestrian powered travel, used for movement, lifting and lowering of material. Included in the standard are all of the following points:

          • Rules for loading conditions, strength and stability calculations, including extensive tests.

          • Requirements for attachment devices to prevent the load from falling off.

          • Requirements for minimum safety clearences within the construction.

          • Instructions to prevent persons, goods or fixed installations in the work area of the Work Positioner from being damaged.

          • Ergonomic design of the handle.

          • Wheel protection and parking brake.

          • Overload protection devices.

          • Maximum permitted lift and lowering speeds.

          • Requirements for the electrical and control systems.

          • Comprehensive operation and maintenance instructions and markings, to give clear advice about the operation, warnings regarding possible misuse and risks, of the Work Positioner and any that could occur in the vicinity of the lift table. Also to provide instructions for installation, inspections and maintenance, providing the user with extended, economical use from EdmoLift Work Positioners.
