EdmoLift delivers important lifting component to EOS imaging’s revolutionizing Med Tech Innovation!
The first model of the EOSedgeTM was installed in France during 2019, and with both the regulatory CE Mark in Europe and the FDA 510(K) approval in place in North America, the market potential for the new scanning system is enormous. EdmoLift has contributed with the vertical positioning platform that enables the patients’ complete bodies to be scanned while standing in a natural, upright position.
EdmoLift has a long track record of providing highly customized lifting- and tilting solutions for multiple markets. Previous customers range from theme parks like Disneyland Paris, manufacturers within the automotive industry, Champagne & wine distributors, exclusive chocolate producers, and massive theater stages, to name a few. Their latest major project has been within the Med Tech industry while working with the company EOS imaging.
– They came to us with a proposition of being part in the development of their revolutionizing new medical device that allows best-in-class image resolution while drastically lowering the dose of radiation and increasing the workflow efficiency. We were initially asked to find a solution that would be suitable for the high demands, standards and regulations that are required when working in the Med Tech sector, says Daniel Rundén, Project Manager at EdmoLift.
The result of EOS imaging’s multi-year project was the EOSedgeTM, and the project scope for EdmoLift in particular was to evolve the patient platform to fit within the new cabin’s open design. The overall goal was to improve patient comfort and maximize the throughput of patients, and by developing a platform based on a specialized TE 350 lift table, the EOSedgeTM has the ability of enabling easy access to a much broader range of patients. Furthermore, the new platform allows for faster positioning of patients and increases the size of the examination field.
The EOSedgeTM gives doctors, orthopedists and surgeons the opportunity of receiving local and full body, weight-bearing, low-dose biplanar exams of both adult and pediatric patients, while removing bias from images and increasing the precision of anatomic data of patients placed in functional positions.
– It has been a very positive project to be a part of, and we are happy with the results. The EOSedgeTM is truly an amazing new product that both EOS imaging and we at EdmoLift are confident will be a success on the annual $2 billion CT-scan market. The aim for EOS imaging is to sell 800 units of the EOSedgeTM over the next decade, and that of course means that 800 units of the specialized TE 350 lift table from EdmoLift are sold as well, concludes Daniel Rundén.
